Almost there....

The vacation starts at 7pm this very day, and I can't wait, really.  I mean, it's been a year, I've worked a couple of EXTRA days, actually, and I'm a little fried, even though we've had some pretty good shows this week.  I'm looking forward to getting my comic collection in order, cleaning the basement (seriously, I am looking forward to it!), and brewing up a batch or two (I may splurge for that second refining bucket after all).  Ahhhhhh, yeah: THAT'S some relaxin' there.

I mean, I had to cancel my week-long plans at the Executive Club VIP this week. Stupid Eliot Spitzer, anyway.

Be here when I get back....I am SOOOOOOOOOO geeked to have the opportunity to interview Neal Adams, I can't tell ya!  That segment'll hit the airwaves Wednesday, March 26th at 5:15.  Also, don't forget our Hollywood Week, with Kathy Vogel, Brenna Roth, Rachelle Williams, and Barry 'Greg Brady' Williams (no relation to Rachelle, by the way) all in the week of April 14th.  Brenna said she'd show us her tattoo.  Maybe Kathy'll get one and show it to us, too.

If you've been with us since the beginning, thanks for hanging with the changes we made to the show.  If you joined us in the middle, and you're still with us, thank you, too.  If you're still new to the show, thank you as well.  Hell, thank you all, keep listening, and never, ever, ever be a stranger (you can beCOME stranger; don't just 'be').  We're doing 'Sin Or Not' as our Friday Five today on the show.  I'll update HERE at the end of the program today to let you know which ones are the 'new' sins (according to the Vatican), and which ones are not.  Should be fun!

Link to Neal Adams's website, so you can see why I'm geeked: Neal Adams.com

'till the 24th,
Client #10

Update: The Friday Five on the show today dealt with 'Sin or Not' and the "new" deadly sins that the Vatican has come up with to add to the old 7 sins to make it so we can't do nuthin' no more.  We asked you if these things were sins:  Dolly the sheep, testing a new diet plan to see if it works, a bonfire at a pep rally, winning the Powerball lottery, and listening to Ron Ponder's show.  Guess what?   They're ALL sins according to the new rules the Vatican's laid down (well, except for #5....you're allowed to make your own call on that one)!!!  Dolly the sheep falls under 'genetic modification', new diet is 'carrying out experiments on humans', bonfire is 'polluting the environment', the lottery win is 'becoming obscenely wealthy'.....yeah, dumb.

Oh, Governor...you've been a bad boy!

Well, ALLEGEDLY a bad boy.  Peter King (R-NY) said it best when he said, "I never try to take advantage or gloat over a personal tragedy.  However, this is different.  This is a guy who is so self-righteous, and so unforgiving" (courtesy of the AP).  My wife and I were betting on how long this stays in the news....I mean, we're STILL hearing about Larry Craig and David Vitter and Mark Foley, simply because they're Republicans.  Eliot Spitzer's a hippie, and we ALL know how the media treats the hippies.  I say the story will be dead by Friday...what say you?

Anyhoo: considering what the good Governor who vowed to stamp out corruption in New York state government is ALLEGED to have done with a prostitute named 'Kristen' (for $4500, no less), I thought I'd provide some links to some gals..and GUYS...who might do for the Governor what Kristen was supposed to do for the Governor for a LOT less money.

Here they be:
Canton, Ohio
Akron, Ohio
Wichita, Kansas
St. Paul, Minnesota

...and there are more sites, but you get the picture.  And what a pretty picture it is....NOT.

Happy, happy, joy, joy.

Survive it, didja?

Apparently so, since you're reading this here blog (unless, you DIDN'T survive the snow and somehow you're managing to read this anyway.  If that's the case, leave a comment, 'cause that'd be weird).  Me?  I spent 3 1/2 hours out Saturday trying to keep up with the snowfall, and then another 3 hours out yesterday....and most of that was spent clearing out the end of the driveway after the plows came through.  I'm still feeling all of my 46 years today, and I thought I was in pretty good shape.

It's anniversary week on the show, which means we'll be doing absolutely nothing to commemorate that.  If you've been with us from the beginning, you know how much the show's evolved from where it began (just little old me doing it all) to where it is now (with the Great Zamboni producing, and Pepsi-cap and D-Weed contributing, it's more of a team feel, it's more fun, and it's better radio); if you've just joined the showgram: welcome aboard, and don't be a stranger.  We're still evolving, and input is always welcome (constructive, and not just bitchin', please).  Either way, thanks for tuning in.....we wouldn't be here if it weren't for you.  And the advertising dollars.

Link:  I'm Not Going To Tell You What This Is.  It'll be a surprise.  Here's a hint, though:  I was watching G4s 'Women Of Ninja Warriors' and was remembering another thing I liked about Japan, so I thought I'd provide a link to something related to the show.  I found this.  Enjoy.  Or don't.  Whatever.

Man, do I need a vacation.  Glad I've got one coming next week......

I know what I said....

..and you know what?  I've changed my mind.  I'm not going to blog about the lying, spiteful, angry, hateful idiot John Baylor today.  People are making fun of him on (in?) other areas of the Interweb, so I don't need to.

Instead, I'm going to talk very quickly about who we have on the show today, so you may be inclined to tune in:  Margie Serri, from the Stark County Dog Pound ('shelter' sounds so much better, but I don't think they call it that)...4:15 this afternoon, and then 9-year-old Gabriella L. will be in during the 5 o'clock hour to explain why she's shaving her hair off her young little head this Sunday coming up.

Warm and fuzzies today, kids...warm and fuzzies.

Oh, and find out why the Governor blew us off last Friday.  We found out why, and I ain't too happy 'bout it.

St. Baldricks.  Follow this link to find out about Gabriella L.'s head shavin' that's happening Sunday.

'Till next time: same Bat-time, same Bat-channel.

What the what?!?!?!

Um....why are people having problems voting today?  It really ain't that hard: you go to your polling place, sign in, get your paper ballot or touch screen card, and vote away.

Apparently, some people in Stark County are having problems getting the right voting card.  Having never voted with those corrupt, nasty, cheating touch screens (are you getting my sarcasm....?), I really don't know much about them, but I guess you've gotta get a Republican, Hippie, or 'issue only' card when you register to put in the computer so you can touch the right candidate or issue in the machine (how DO they get in there, anyway?).  It seems, according to complaints, that poll workers aren't giving out the right cards, or people aren't asking for the right cards, or SOMETHING; it's making the whole voting process get the whim-whams, and it's all simply getting boring.

You know, if you can't figure out what to do when you go to vote (and know the process so you can figure out if the poll worker missed something), then you probably shouldn't be allowed to vote at all.  I mean, if you can't figure out this simple step, then how are you going to be able to figure out the issues, the stance that candidates take and the questions to ask about those stances, etc.?

Monday, March 03, 2008

Well, it's Monday...

...and it's a new month, and we've got elections coming tomorrow, and I guess if ANYONE had to hang up on the show last week, it might as well have been the Governor of Ohio.  Thanks, Allison.

If you attended the Northeast Ohio Rock and Roller Girls 'Stand Off for Hands Off' yesterday, then I've gotta pass along a big 'thank you'.  You were one of over 300 people who attended the historic, inaugural bout of the Grrls, and you helped raise over $1500 for the Women's Network to help stop domestic violence.  Yeah, I know the bout was kind of a blow-out, but still.....how about that suicide seating?  Wanna also say 'thanks' to the staff at the Geisen Haus for working a day they don't normally work to feed the bunch of us that came out to party with the Grrls.  Good food, good beers, good times.

And thanks to you again if you stopped by, or stopped ME and said you tuned in to the show...it's appreciated!

Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got a signed-by-the-entire-league poster to get framed.  It's WAAAAAAAAY cool.  Thanks guys and gals!!!

Hudson Leick.  Remember 'Xena'?  This is Callisto.  Yum.

Vote tomorrow!!!!!!!

Lil' ole me sez: Bye!

Looking forward....

..to a busy, but fun, weekend.

First, on the show today, as I mentioned yesterday, we....well, crap: look at yesterday's blog entry.  Duh.

Then, well, nothing to do tomorrow except clean the house and sit on my lazy buttocks, I guess.  Scratch that (well, not my lazy buttocks, but the fact that it won't be so busy after all).

OK, well, Sunday's the 'coming out' of sorts for the Northeast Ohio Rock and Roller Grrls (yeah, I spelt it that way) at the 'Stand Off for Hands Off'.  Roller derby, silent auction, lots of fun, and a party afterwards....who could ask for anything more?  WHO could ask for anything more?

5pm, North Canton Skate Center in Belden Village.  See you then!

Happy birthday, Mike Whole (today), and Big Don G., the Great Zamboni (Sunday, Sunday, SUNDAYYYYYY).

Anime!

The end (of the week),
Spaceman Doctor

Thursday, February 28, 2008

Well, it's over.

For now, that is:  57 years before ANY chance of parole for Bobby Cutts, Jr..  We'll see what happens during the appeals process.

Really looking forward to tonight's television programming.  It's Thursday, and that means another episode of LOST!  After finding out that Jack, Kate, Hurley, Sayid, Aaron (now we know who 'he' is from last season's last episode)....and even Ben (who may or may NOT be one of the "Oceanic 6") get off the island, it gets less flash-forwardy tonight, or at least that's what you might believe, what with Desmond involved (or it could get even more flash-forwardy, what with his mad time-traveling 'skillz'...ooooh, I'm cool).

Best.....season.....ever!

The Babes Of LOST and more!  Schwing!

Tomorrow on the showgram: Charita Goshay from the Rep, more from the NEORRGrrls, and Gov. Ted Strickland.

Yep, we dun got us a corny-cope-u-uh of radio goodness!  Don't be sq....well, you know.

A short one today.

But it's one that is kinda cool.  We got a call to the show yesterday from a very proud grandma who wanted to tell us about her grandaughter winning the Iditarod Junior race.  I won't go into detail myself....I'll just provide you a link to the story:  Iditarod News.

Let me change what I said about this: not 'kinda cool', but VERY cool!

Ta-ta for now!

I don't know what to blog about today...

..because there ain't much happening.  Oh, I could complain about the weather...but Big Don did that, and I don't want to be a copy cat (besides, aren't we ALL bitchin' about the weather right about now?).

I could lay a couple of thoughts about the whole Cutts trial here, but what's left to be said.  Bad guy did a bad thing and now, no matter WHAT happens to him, it'll be bad.

You can check out our MySpace page for some special shows coming up, and we're promoting some upcoming events on our show page, so I'd be doubling up there.....

Eh.....I wanna thank Kathy for the maid pictures (yum-O!) on HER MySpace page, the NEORRGrrls for the pictures in general on THEIR pages, and my wife for not minding that I like to look at the wimmins, mainly 'cause she a) reaps all the benefits, and b) she knows where I put my head at night.  Every night.

Unless SHE says otherwise, that is!

Speaking of the wimmins: Modern Pin Ups.  They're one of our MySpace friends, too...AND there's adult content, so watch it around the young'uns.

B-rad-why.
